Japanese embroidery and beading classes

Japanese embroidery and beading classes take place twice a year in Lytham-St-Annes in the North West and Shillingford near Oxford. The classes are run by Japanese Embroidery Academy UK (JEA) and Japanese Embroidery Center (JEC) authorised tutors.  Contact details for both venues are given below. 

Classes at both venues offer students the opportunity to follow either the JEA or JEC curriculum and are suitable for both beginners and advanced students.  We also offer tuition on designs from Studio Kusano, examples of which can be found on the JEA website. 

Both venues offer new students the opportunity to take part in a two day taster classes which will provide basic instruction and can help students decide if they want to go further along the journey of Japanese embroidery.  

On-line day and day classes for 2025.

Our in person classes will run at the Glendower Hotel in Lytham St Annes. Dates are 26 January, 23 February (online only), 30 March, 1 June, 29 June, 27 July, 28 September, and 30 November.  Class runs from 10am to 4pm.   Payment for on-line class can be made in the shop. Payment for in person classes can be made in the shop or in person on the day.  Teas/coffees and/or lunch are available from the hotel.

Shillingford near Oxford - 2026

Lytham St Annes - 2025/2026

16 - 19 October 2025 and 16-19 April 2026 - October dates to be confirmed - at Glendower Hotel, Lytham St Annes.  Rooms should be booked directly with the hotel once your have booked onto a class.  Class fee £240 (four days), £120 (two day taster).  Places can be reserved with a £50 booking fee.  For more information please use the contact me page on this website. 

If you are interested in taking classes but are not able to attend on the dates above it is possible to arrange private tuition, this can be on an individual basis or for a small group of two or three.
